Tropical

I went to California for the first time last month. It was also the first time I was able to see the ocean. Pathetic, I know. I was at the beach when I wanted to draw her. I drew her with the pen I bought in Disneyland. . . Haha.

I really like the hair and the frond.

Death

Death is a character from Neil Gaiman's comic The Sandman. She is the older sister of Dream. There is a particular point in the story where Dream notes how there is a soft beat of wings when Death takes a person with her. At first I thought it was her wings but I'm beginning to think that it is the sound of the souls leaving Earth.
I love how she seems to be staring at you even though her eyes are covered in shadows.

Ghost

No pencil sketch with this one either. I did go in with a computer paintshop to lengthen the chin though. I cut it off a little.
I guess it's that fear of feet for why I swept the dress off like that. That and I was having fun with the brush.

Wrapping Shadow

This is the first drawing in my latest sketchbook. Again I went in with the ink right away. However I didn't use India ink with this one. I used some random pen I found in class. . . Shame on me, I know.
I don't have much of a deal when it comes to drawing nudes. It's just a body.
I like the strong contrast in the face.

Vampire

I totally forgot to give this back to my teacher. Gasp! I told her she could have it. Sorry Ms. Dooner. I guess I can get my brother to give the drawing back. It's hanging up in my room.

I did this one right after I did Twilight of Raven. However, I think I did go with a pencil sketch on this one. Huh. Surprising. It's not very noticible but I put in red for the eyes and pendant.

I liked the way the texture came out in the back ground and that creeping shadow on his upper back.

Took Me Forever

Yeah. . . . Kinda forgot about updating. Haha. Oh well. I guess I'll put up more of my black ink drawings.

I'll try to keep them in order chronogically.

This is Twilight of Raven. I went straight in with the ink. I tend to do so. I like to get started with it right away with no pencil sketch.

I switched off from a pen for the details and a brush with the black out area in the foreground and the wash in the background.

She doesn't have nipples so she doesn't feed her young with milk. A true avian.
